Kathy Pullin's Sassy Apple Dumplings

Kathy Pullin’s Apple Pie Dumplings turn a handful of simple ingredients into a warm, comforting dessert that tastes just like homemade apple pie. Flaky biscuits wrapped around cinnamon-spiced apples and baked in a buttery sweet sauce make this an easy crowd-pleaser from the grill or oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples peeled, cored 
  • 1 package of grands flaky biscuits 
  • 1 lemon
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Slice each apple into 8 equal slices, place in bowl and squirt some lemon juice.
  2. In a separate bowl combine melted butter, water, sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
  3. While your grill or oven is heating up to 350 degrees, take your biscuits layers divide them into 3 pieces per biscuit.
  4. Take 1 piece of apple, wrap in biscuit layers, and repeat.
  5. Place in cast iron skillet and pour sugar mixture over top.
  6. Place in grill or oven bake 20 minutes covered and 25 additional.
  7. Remove and Enjoy!
